Sullen is band that cannot be placed in a category. Its music takes its listeners to those ethereal place that exist only deep within the subconscious. Sullen is constantly striving for world domination and it will not rest until the entire known world is under its control. | ||||||||||||||||

Sullen was founded by three people and a drum machine. Peter Clay - vocals, most guitar, bass sometimes Nicholas Rotunda - a little guitar and bass, keyboard (used for all other instruments), drum machine, spoken parts Evan Keeling - Evan can play a mean trumpet but mostly he is just used for his invaluable musical advice and he tends to the gimp (he really is the gimp, but don't tell him). Sullen has investigated into getting a real drummer, which would be better than a machine in some ways but worse in others. Sullen is also considering maybe another guitarist but who knows. Sullen is currently not a live performing band, but hopefully that will change. I can't wait to see them live. They have recorded a few songs, but haven't had much time lately. You know how it is. Songs Sullen has fully or partially recorded: Maxson Blues - named after a chick Peter met somewhere, this song was written by Peter and is mellow but powerful. It ends with an absolutely beautiful piano solo by Nicholas. Over - This song has a tribal/funky drum beat the entire way, countered by a sinister, evil organ that crawls up your spine. Over was written by Nicholas and has Peter's vocals and Nicholas speaking in German in the background. Sleepy - This was a cover done of the Catherine song Sleepy on the EP Sleepy. This was done for a compilation tape of Catherine covers by Catherine fans. The tape is not out yet but mail to [email protected] for information. Sign Of The Cross - Another cover for the Catherine compilation tape that was never sent in because Sullen was dissatisfied with it. But it's a great song and is still on record at Sullen Headquarters. Songs written and to be recorded by Sullen soon now that wrestling and swimming season is over: Waste Away - A song by Peter with hard flowing guitars that fade into a peaceful ballad. The Very Old Man - A cover by Hum, a great band that everyone should listen to. The Locust King - A hard yet calm song written by Nicholas that was halted in the recording process because it was too long, almost twelve minutes long. Nicholas loves long songs, but he intended The Locust King to be a decent length song but he gets so many ideas and tries to put them all together and everything goes wacko. Comrade Gingersnap - An attempt by Nicholas to write a decent length song, seven minutes, hmmm. Elephant Man - A hard, screechy song by Peter that lacks words and is very cool. Sullen usually records at Dark Blade Studios (Nicholas' TV Room), but sometimes they record in Peter's basement, and it's a cooler place to hang out.
